CoolSculpting for the Neck
*Individual Results May Vary
Thanks to a new applicator, known as the CoolMini, those that want to remove neck fat can now do so with a recently released CoolSculpting applicator designed in a size that perfectly addresses fat around the neck.
Neck CoolSculpting with Zeltiq’s CoolMini
CoolSculpting represented an alternative, but given the unique shape and needs of the neck, Zeltiq had not yet been able to create an applicator that could address it in a way that would shrink neck fat both safely and successfully. Now that the CoolMini applicator has been cleared by the FDA to address this type of fat, Dr. Agha and his staff can now perform CoolSculpting sessions on neck fat and improve facial appearance without surgery.
Crystallized fat cells die, and the body begins the process of removal, which can be gradual with results that start appearing in about 3 weeks, and final results in about 8 to 12 weeks. The average amount of fat loss in the submental area is between 30 to 40%, and unlike many plastic surgery options for neck fat, the excess skin tightens around the fat loss.
In Zeltiq’s official statement, multiple treatments can also deliver additional results. This is especially beneficial for significant neck fat.
CoolSculpting is an excellent alternative to other plastic surgery procedures on the neck. Performed by renowned plastic surgeon Dr. Agha – awarded Premier Crystal Status for his work with CoolSculpting – your double chin CoolSculpting in Orange County and Los Angeles can provide you with many excellent benefits, including:
- Little to No Evidence of the Procedure – Ask many people why they avoid plastic surgery of the neck, and they’ll tell you they are frightened of the negative stigma that is sometimes associated with necklifts and facelifts. Here, CoolSculpting has a significant advantage, because results appear gradually and there are no cuts or scarring. You don’t have to tell anyone you received CoolSculpting unless you want to, although we hope that you are proud enough of your results to recommend it to others.
- No Scars, Cuts, or Anesthesia Risk – Neck lifts are invasive procedures with incisions, anesthesia, and a long recovery time. Neck CoolSculpting, like all CoolSculpting, requires no recovery time and has no long term consequences.
- Less Cost – Plastic surgery for a double chin has an average cost of roughly $5,000. CoolSculpting is only a small fraction of that cost, with no anesthesia and no missed work.
The CoolMini applicator also makes it possible to evenly address fat around the neck area, which results in a very desirable final cosmetic appearance.
Is CoolSculpting Around the Neck Safe?
The neck is filled with many important nerves and arteries, so it is obvious to be a bit concerned about any new technology that focuses its attention on killing cells in the neck. Thankfully, significant study has shown that CoolSculpting all around the body, including the neck, is safe when performed correctly by trained surgeons using Zeltiq technology.
There are no known long term side effects of CoolSculpting. Bruising, numbness, and tingling may occur, but these are known to subside within roughly three weeks, and only occur in a small number of CoolSculpting patients. Patients are allowed to return to work the same day they have their procedure completed.
