Creator of CoolAdvantage, ZELTIQ, Announces Worldwide Launch of CoolAdvantage Applicator
FDA-cleared CoolSculpting– ZELTIQ Aesthetics, Inc., creator of the CoolSculpting ® technique, announced last week the release of an innovative 3-in-1 applicator that promises to deliver enhanced patient results.
The CoolAdvantage applicator features an adaptable 3-in-1 configuration with enhanced cup design. Treatment times are reduced by nearly 50 percent. Advances in technology of the CoolSculpting ® applicator enables treatment times to be safely performed at even lower temperatures. With the additional advantage of treatment times cut in half, greater patient comfort is increased along with the amount of fat tissue that comes in contact with the applicator. Why Can’t You Freeze Fat More Than One Place at a Time?
ZELTIQ received clearance last year from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to perform the procedure at lower temperatures which results in shorter treatment times. Three distinct applicators allow plastic surgeons to address multiple treatment areas on patients.
- Vertical areas of fat such as the inner thigh are ideal for the CoolFit Advantage applicator
- Contours of the abdomen are best matched with the CoolCore Advantage applicator
- Flanks, the areas of fat located along the back and sides, are best treated with the CoolCurve+ Advantage applicator
With multiple applicator use, a patient who had treatment in the past on one area, can have three areas treated simultaneously in half the time. Patients who have had this type of treatment have reported a higher comfort level with the CoolAdvantage applicators. What Happens to the Crystallized Fat Cells After a Fat Freeze?
What areas of my body can the CoolSculpting ® procedure address?
The FDA-cleared CoolSculpting ® procedure is available for the treatment of visible fat deposits in the thighs, abdomen and flank. Bra fat, back fat, and fat underneath the buttocks is also treatable. Double chins, excessive arm fat, and inner knee or ankle fat is also treated with CoolSculpting ®. Basically, any place on the body where fat accumulates is potentially treatable with the CoolSculpting ® procedure.
How does the CoolSculpting ® procedure work?
The CoolSculpting ® procedure is created on the scientific principle that fat cells are more sensitive to cold treatments than the surrounding tissues and overlying skin. The treated fat cells are precisely cooled to reduce the temperature of those cells only. The CoolSculpting ® procedure is a clinically, non-surgical procedure that reduces selective unwanted fat using an ultra-cooling technology. Fat cells are targeted by gently cooling them in the body to induce a controlled and natural elimination. The surrounding tissue is not affected by the cooling technique. The fat cells that are treated then die and are flushed out of the body through natural means. These fat cells do not return once ejected from the body. Patients in Los Angeles or Orange County that are treated with the CoolSculpting ® procedure do not have any downtime or recovery period. Results are seen within a few months as the body processes and eliminates the dead fat cells.
Am I a good candidate for the CoolSculpting ® procedure?
If you have areas of fat that are resistant to diet and exercise, the CoolSculpting ® technique with the CoolAdvantage applicator may be right for you. Please note that the CoolSculpting ® technique will not eliminate excess skin or wrinkles. Results are not immediate, but the are permanent.
